Breakfast Smoothie with Cacao & Matcha

This delicious breakfast smoothie has all the benefits of raw cacao powder and matcha green tea which are high in antioxidants to help fight any ‘associated inflammation and oxidative stress’ from excess sugar intake. Almonds, chia seeds, and hemp seeds are good sources of protein and beneficial fats. Both of these nutrients slow down the gastric emptying of foods into the small intestine. This, in turn, helps to limit a blood sugar surge thus helping to maintain blood sugar balance in conditions such as diabetes and insulin resistance.

  • 100g frozen berries
  • 30g curly kale
  • 2 tbsp almonds
  • 1 tbsp hulled hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp raw cacao powder
  • 20g desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp matcha green tea
  • 300-400ml filtered water/coconut water


  • Blend all the ingredients until smooth in a high-speed blender.
  • Serve immediately.
