Berry Nice Breakfast

Simple, quick and easy this ‘berry’ nice porridge is packed full of immune-boosting antioxidants.  The oats are prebiotic and contain beta-glucan while the yoghurt is probiotic, all of which help support the immune system.

Ingredients

  • 50g porridge oats
  • 150ml milk
  • 1 big handful of mixed berries (frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons natural yoghurt

Method

  • Place porridge oats and milk into a microwavable bowl.
  • Sprinkle the mixed berries on top.
  • Place the bowl in the microwave and cook on full power for 2 minutes.
  • Remove bowl from microwave and stir.
  • Place the bowl back in the microwave and cook on full power for 20- 60 seconds.
  • Remove bowl from microwave and stir.
  • Repeat the above two steps until the porridge reaches your desired consistency. The thicker consistency the longer the cooking time.
  • Be careful to keep an eye on the porridge while it is cooking to make sure it doesn’t boil over.
  • To serve, spoon over yoghurt.
